I have McAfee VirusScan 2007 which is fine, but when scanning a 160GB HDD it takes a long time to complete... Online you can get free scans like from Symantec, Mcafee, Trend Micro and lots lots more, which of these is the fastest?
Fastest Scanning Antivirus?live update
BitDefender
try this it won't let u down
Fastest Scanning Antivirus?norten
forget the speed its the quality of the scan thats important
I havent used any of those. I like AVG. Its fast and free.
kaspersky is the best
trend micro for me
Try AVG free edition(7.5 version). It's fast %26 free.
by fastest, what do you mean? I would think that would depend on your settings; is it scanning EVERYTHING, or just Exe files? etc. I would prefer to have the BEST, not the fastest, and in this PC/Network Tech's experience, Trend Micro is the BEST! I last used Norton, and got a free copy of Trend Micro, when I bought some motherboards (I used to build PCs for people), so I tried it out on my system; Trend Micro found 9 viruses that Norton didn't detect! I have not used Norton since!
Once you scan your system fully; do as I do: I only scan my download folder... it's much faster!
use Symantec it is the fastest .
note. the scan time depends on how mush files you have
not on the size of he HHD.
Try Kaspersky Internet Security. It has 99% detection rating.
McAfee only has a 95 or lower. Also download AOL internet security since it is free.
Only have one AV and Spyware program on your computer at a time or you will be scanning extremely slow then..
